根据第三版的规则书上说的，
小德能带的动物伙伴的ＨＤ总和最高不能超过他的施法者等级的２倍，但通常冒险时只能是最大值的一半。
　　那就是说，小德平时能带的动物伙伴的ＨＤ和自己的施法等级相等。
　　那么３级的小德，就能用化兽为友招来　一头黑熊（３ＨＤ中型动物）
当动物伙伴。或是一条狼（２ＨＤ）和一条狗（１ＨＤ）。

是的，3E规则的Dru动物伙伴总HD取决于Dru职业等级，在总HD不超过限制的情况下，可以拥有一只以上的动物伙伴。

3E规则原文：
A 1st-level druid may begin play with an animal companion. This animal is one that the druid has befriended with the spell animal friendship. It can have up to 2 Hit Dice. (While the druid is 1st level, this particular animal is loyal enough to stay with her, even though an adventuring druid usually can only maintain animal friends whose Hit Dice total up to her level.) Alternatively, the druid may have more than one animal companion provided the animals' total Hit Dice don't exceed 2.
